Mettlestate and ASUS Republic of Gamers are bringing Dota 2 fans in South Africa a tournament – the ASUS ROG Dota 2 Cup

The tournament offers a R55,000 prize pool and will be open to all teams via registration. An open qualifier into a 16-team group stage will lead to a double elimination bracket which all concludes on 12 August.

Registrations are now open and stay open until 7 June with the teams battling through an open (single bracket) qualifier from 11 June to secure one of the 16 spots. The best-of-one group phase (two groups of eight) then kicks off weekly from 24 June. The top two teams from each group will head into the final’s weekend of 11 and 12 August.

The playoffs will be best-of-three generally other than for the grand final which will be best-of-five.
