According to Assassin’s Creed IV’s creative director, the PS4 version of the game will “ship” (huh-huh great pun) alongside the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions due in October.

Now, let’s be fair, there would be no point to releasing a game without a platform to actually play it on, so speculation is a complete entitlement in this case.  However, there is also every chance that something may have been a little misunderstood.

As CVG points out, Ubisoft Montreal’s Jean Guesdon may have simply implied – when saying “same ship” – to the fact that the game itself will be completed alongside current gen versions of the game.

However, the question itself was pretty direct: “Is there going to be any delay between the versions, or are they all going to release at the same time?”

Official confirmation is still awaited but we’re pretty sure deniability will come first.

Meanwhile, GameStop is reporting ‘strong PS4 demand’, with around  600,000 customers signed up to receive updates on the console due sometime between October 2013 and October 2014… that release date is just our guess.
