PS3: Facebook Features Soon

Just as today’s Facebook and Twitter update prepares to hit Microsoft’s console, Sony has announced that with its new firmware update, PSN players will be able to post Trophy and PlayStation Store activity to their Facebook news feed.  Again, as with the MS update, is anyone really interested in all these features?

The next PlayStation 3 firmware update will allow you to post Trophy and PlayStation Store activity to your Facebook news feed.

With the advent of firmware 3.10, which is due “soon”, developers will be able to code features in their games that post to the news feed as well.

However, the update stops short of full Facebook integration – you will still need to use the web browser to check out Facebook, Twitter and so on. Johnny.

Elsewhere in the update, detailed on the PlayStation blog, we’re promised a revamp of the Photo section of the XMB so you can see more photographs.

Finally, the PSN friends list has been modified based on feedback received after last firmware update, and you will now be able change PSN ID colour on the XMB too.
