Profiled: Jesse Smith

We are into the silly season apparently, but that’s not going to stop us from bringing you local gamers to better acquainted with. This week’s ‘Profiled’ features one of the leader of last week’s ‘Profiled’ focus – Impulsive Red. Without too much more blah-blah from us, let’s rather find out about Jesse Smith and his love for gaming.

Go ahead.  Introduce yourself.  Don’t be shy.

My name is Jesse Smith, I’m 22 years old and stay in Alberton.

What’s your platform of choice?  Why?

It’s really more of where the competitive scene is at that time. There was a time during [Call of Duty] Ghosts and Black Ops 2 where it was mainly on Xbox 360 and then it moved over to PS4 so I did too…
If I had to choose though it would be PS4, always been a PlayStation fan.

Can you remember the first time you ‘gamed’?

First time I gamed was on my dad’s computer, played an old western game called Mad Dog [Mcree. We assume. -Undead Ed].

How long have you been gaming?

Properly (online) is seven years, but in general I’ve been gaming for 13 years.

When do you think you’ll stop gaming?

When hell freezes over. Lol.

Are you a serious gamer?  Or do you enjoy a laugh?

When it comes to online gaming like Call of Duty I’m the most serious. Very rarely will have a laugh… I am highly competitive.

Singleplayer or multiplayer?

Multiplayer.

Is playing online important to you?

YES! <3

Are you a member of a clan?  Who are they and why?

I run my own esports organization known as “Impulsive Red”.

As to why…
Because it’s always been a dream of mine to run my own team and grow that team into a family. I look at Nadeshot and 100 Thieves as an example.

Favourite game currently?

Black Ops 4.

Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming?  What?

I enjoy going to chillers with friends and just having a good time – not a party person though.

You’re stranded on a desert island and a genie grants you five items.  Name them:

A game: Red Dead Redemption 2 (assuming there’s no internet)
A CD: Arctic Monkeys – AM
A movie or TV series: Shameless complete series
An organic life form: WHAT? [Erm. A living being of some sort. Even a zombie counts. – Undead Ed]
Something edible or drinkable: Pizza and a 6-pack of Red Bull [Doubt a 6-pack will keep you going if you’re stranded. We’ll let you have infinite. – Undead Ed]

What’s the most embarrassing or worst game you’ve ever bought or received as a gift?

Plants vs Zombies … PATHETIC or even KNACK.

If you were a game designer, describe your ultimate game design.

Star Wars type open world game (Red Dead Redemption in the future). [I believe you may be thinking of Mass Effect then? – Undead Ed]

The zombie apocalypse has happened.  You’re facing down a ravenous zombie horde (which may or may not include members of ZG in bikinis).  What weapon do you grab?

RAYGUN.

In the aforementioned zombie apocalypse you humans are all toast.  Become a turncoat and assist the superior zombies or stay with the soon to be wiped out human resistance?

Screw it, be a zombie and take as many as you can. Lol.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our silly questions.  What game are you off to play now that you’re done?

The game of life sadly. </3
