Ouya Kickstarter Closes on a Massive $ 8 Million

The Android-powered Ouya console’s Kickstarter campaign has been an enormous success and Gamasutra report that the campaign closed on $8 million. The campaign was originally asking for just under $1 million in backing to successfully launch.

The Ouya wrangled not only a massive financial support, but also attracted key developers and services who showed a positive interest for the console.

Robert Bowling, the ex-Infinity Ward creative is developing the first game, while OnLive want to bring their streaming service to the console. Square Enix are also showing interest in the Ouya.
