Polyphony Digital has released some new DLC content for Gran Turismo 5.
The DLC pack consists of the ‘Twin Ring Motegi’ track in Japan, and Motegi’s two tracks are available in four different layouts. The new Scion FR-S ’12 car is available for downloaded for free.
The Twin Ring Motegi circuit will cost Euro 4.99 /GBP 3.99 / around R 50.
South Africa, Johannesburg, 27th June 2012: The Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan has become the latest real world circuit to join those recreated in impeccable detail for Gran Turismo®5. Motegi’s two tracks are available in four different layouts for the hugely popular ‘real driving simulator’ for PlayStation®3 and can be purchased and downloaded from PlayStation®Store. The new Scion FR-S ’12 car has also been made available for GT5™ and can be downloaded free of charge.
The Twin Ring Motegi circuit has both an oval and road course in its configuration. The 2.4km oval ‘Superspeedway’ is mainly used as the stage for American motorsports, while the 4.8km road course is used for races like the Super GT and Formula Nippon. The DLC (downloadable content) pack not only contains these two tracks, but also includes the West and East courses that are formed by separating the first half and the latter half of the road course, letting you enjoy the different technical layouts of the Motegi track.
The Motegi ‘East’ course was recently used as the culmination of the GT Academy 2012 qualification process. Over one million people worldwide downloaded the GT Academy demo with the fastest drivers from eligible GT Academy 2012 countries recording their fastest laps on the new track to try and win their place in the next round of the innovative and successful gamer-to-real-racer competition run in partnership with Nissan.
The Scion FR-S ’12 download adds this stunning, compact FR (front engined, rear wheel drive) sports car from Scion to Gran Turismo 5. A 2-litre horizontally opposed engine gives it a very low centre of gravity and ideal weight distribution, and the car is specifically designed throughout to provide pure driving pleasure. The car is a brother of the Toyota 86 sold in Japan, and its drivetrain layout makes it perfect for learning sports driving techniques.
Both DLC packs are available now from PlayStation®Store. The Scion FR-S car is free, while the Twin Ring Motegi circuit will cost Euro 4.99 / GBP 3.99
