EA are reportedly looking to take the Need for Speed franchise to the big screen. According to Variety, siblings John and George Gatins, have been tasked with developing a pitch for the movie.
John Gatins and EA will produce the project and then EA reps – United Talent Agency – will pitch to Hollywood’s major studios including Warner Bros. and Sony among others. Reports also suggest that Paramount are interested and in the front running to grab the rights to the mega gaming franchise.
There are other bids and thus far only Universal is said to be the only major studio not making a bid for the project, which should come as no surprise as the studio owns the “Fast and the Furious” franchise.
Plot details are said to be being kept under wraps for now.
