The NASA JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) team were reportedly so impressed with the Oculus Rift during a trip to PAX, that they purchased one for the lab.

Geek.com report [as cited by Gamespot] that the NASA team are pairing the Rift with an Omni treadmill, and are using the devise to virtually walk around Mars with the images sent back by Curiosity trip to Mars.

You will remember the Curiosity rover touched down on Mars around a year ago, from which NASA obtained a ton of images.

The Oculus VR’s headset has taken to every tech-head or gamers’ imagination with the possibilities, and has wowed crowds at recent gaming expos.

A virtual tour of Mars has to be very high up on that list. Can you imagine!
