Mortal Kombat “Konfirmed” for Playstation Vita

And we are very, very glad.

Software is a big part of what attract gamers to hardware, and the Playstation Vita is sounding better and better with the titles lined up for the upcoming portable Playstation console. The previous portable Playstation console did not win a the ‘core’ gamer over by the masses and we believe the software available for the console was a major contributing factor.

We are glad that the US Playstation blog just confirmed that that NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat, who was celebrated on  consoles in 2011, is headed to the Vita

@Playstation Tweeted:

Konfirmed: Mortal Kombat is coming to PS Vita this Spring from NetherRealm Studios, bringing new features to 2011’s most popular fighter.

Locals, keep in mind that this is the US ‘Spring’ which would make it our Autumn.

[Update]

Warner Bros. has now sent out the announcing press release:

“The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.”
