We certainly hope Peter Molyneux’s predictions on the Xbox One and Kinect become a reality.

The Fable creator believes Microsoft will eventually release the Xbox One without Kinect. The reason being is that he thinks Kinect “feels more and more like a joke.”

Why this would be great for some of us here in South Africa, is that because of our omnipotent Rand, by the time the Xbox One arrives in the next millennium, the price should be a little on the shocking side. Removing Kinect could put the Xbox One a little closer to the Playstation 4 pricing.

Molyneux told Edge that he “wishes” Kinect wasn’t a requirement.

“It feels like an unnecessary add-on to me,” he said, and us old folk at Zombiegamer agree.

“Maybe it’s because we’re in England, and it doesn’t really use the TV stuff, but it feels more and more like a joke.”

“My son and I sit there saying random things at it, and it doesn’t work.”

We couldn’t agree more! We love the Xbox One, but the Kinect is an expensive add-on that we just don’t need, or want for that matter.

“I’m sure [Microsoft is] going to release an Xbox One without Kinect,” Molyneux added.

“It would be unthinkable that they wouldn’t.”

The 22Cans founder does seem to tell it like it is lately. He also recently told IGN that Nintendo was a company that had “lost its way,” However it wasn’t all doom and gloom, as he said consumers should “never underestimate Nintendo.”
