“Microtransactions won’t alter core Assassin’s Creed Unity experience” assures Ubisoft

imageMicrotransactions are here to stay it seems. Some of us hate them, and then others hate them more.

Unsurprisingly Assassin’s Creed Unity will feature Microtransactions, and unsurprisingly Ubisoft assures the core experience of the game will remain unscathed.

The game’s microtransactions have not yet been detailed, but OXM reports that these transactions will get players ‘hack’ items and unlocks. So if you don’t enjoy playing games to actually “achieve”, you can just buy your way forward, basically.

“If we think it fits the gameplay, or the brand itself, the core values, we’re willing to take those risks. If not, then not,” senior producer Vincent Pontbriand said.

“We’re not going to make any compromises.

“Companion apps, monetisation, other business models, digital only… We have to be reactive to these things, but not necessarily fundamentally change what we’re trying to do.”

MCV note these transactions are obviously generating revenue, so if we are buying into it, then we are asking for it.
