Playstation Plus is Sony’s new subscription paid for service which offers gamers exclusive discounts, access to games and more. Microsoft seem to be very confident in what is on offer to gamers on Live, as they do not feel the need to respond to the launch of Sony’s PlayStation Plus.

When asked at gamescom if Microsoft had any plans to offer free games as part of Xbox LIVE Gold, the head of product marketing for Xbox LIVE - Robin Burrowes - confidently told VideoGamer.com that he believes Live offers “seamless gaming” and “provides very good value”, so they feel they need not reply. He said, ”I can only talk to our own audience in terms of their commitment to us. We have very very high customer service results.”

He explained that the Gold value proposition continues to grow and offer more. Things like Sky, Video Connect, Facebook and Twitter to mention some. He also explained: “As well as enhancements within the gaming platform: Matchmaking, True Skill and the Xbox LIVE Party scenario where it’s easy to bring in your friends. Those are the IP that we’ve got behind ourselves and why it is the most robust service today.”
