This weekend sees the culmination of the Mettlestate Samsung Galaxy CS:GO Championship when the final eight teams battle for the lion’s share of the R1 million up for grabs.

The LAN finals will take place in Sandton but spectator tickets to the venue are limited and only available via numerous giveaway mechanics (that didn’t include us because zombies are probably scary or something). However, the matches will all be available to watch in the comfort of your own home via the Twitch stream.

The action kicks off on 5 May at 9:30am when Bravado Gaming face Ventus Pro and concludes Sunday 7 May with the grand final at 2:30pm.

Details of the prize pool breakdown were not available at the time of this article going live, but with a total of R1 million up for grabs, you can expect the teams to go for the jugular. Safe money is on Bravado Gaming but that would do a massive injustice to the team that beat them in the Mettlestate Grudge Match, Energy eSports, as well as CS:GO stalwarts Damage Control. That being said, anything can happen on the day, so expect some surprises.
