Kinect warning: Playing games early locks you off Live

Microsoft has apparently issued a warning to anyone who has a copy of the new Kinect games that are supposed to release next week. The have warned that if you pop in a Kinect Game into your console it will disable your Xbox Live functionality.

This will happen as a system update is required for the system that is currently not available. Your console performs a title update which updates your console to the new dashboard. The problem comes in because the update isn’t the newest version and every time you sign into your Xbox Live, it will try to update a version that doesn’t exist on the server.

So your system then will be locked out because you can’t connect to Live without the latest version. Microsoft have said that this should only be a temporary problem. Microsoft is still trying to fix.

The games will however still work, but it means you will be locked off Live until November 4th.
