Hitman, Assassin’s Creed BAFTA Winning Composer to Score Darksiders II

BAFTA award-winning Danish composer, Jesper Kyd who previously scored the Assassin’s Creed and Hitman series, has been named to compose the original score for Darksiders II

THQ say Kyd’s “emotionally dynamic” score for Darksiders II combines ‘dark ethereal themes’ and ‘melodic fantasy’ that reportedly enriches the player’s cinematic journey through each of the game’s unique realms.

Jesper Kyd commented:

“Darksiders II is an awesome game and one of the most fun and creatively satisfying projects I have scored. I had a blast working with the team at Vigil.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Jesper,” said Jeremy Robins, Audio Director at Vigil Games. “He’s an extremely talented composer and an avid gamer, who not only created an amazing soundtrack for Darksiders II, but intuitively knew how to cater each composition to achieve maximum musical impact for players.”

The Darksiders II campaign creative score has been composed by renowned composer Giles Lamb who has composed TV and Film Music for 100′s of TV, films, commercials and games over the years, recently enjoying international repute for the sensational game trailer for ‘Dead Island’ which won a Golden Lion at Cannes 2011.

Jim Huntley, VP of Global Brand Marketing said:

“The emotion that Giles brings to the marketing creative with his unique score is unparalleled. He immediately sets an unforgettable tone & theme for how we’re portraying Darksiders II’s protagonist, Death.”
