Rumors have surfaced last Saturday on IESB that Peter Jackson is out and Steven Spielberg is in for the making of the Halo film. The story has suggested that Spielberg is in negotiation to produce the movie. Apparently he was taken by the writer- Stuart Beattie’s take on the game entitled ‘Halo- The fall of earth’.
Spielberg’s Dreamworks recently lost Transformers to Paramount, so this could be his next big project as he ventures further into the gaming-film market. We will have to wait and see how this plays out but I for one can’t see why not. If Peter Jackson is out then I would think Steven Spielberg would be the logical option on a film that would obviously require enormous ‘special effects’ knowledge and experience.
IESB has learned exclusively (believe me this is solid and I’ve confirmed it three times over with studio executives and our close ties to CAA) that one of the biggest producers in Hollywood history is currently in active negotiations to develop the feature film adaptation and no it’s not Jerry Bruckheimer or Peter Jackson. It’s the man behind Jaws, E.T., Indiana Jones and Transformers, Mr. Steven Spielberg.
