Halo 2 players: Loyalty gets a reward

Halo 2

On April 15, the servers for all the original Xbox games get shut down, including those for Halo 2.  However, dedicated Halo 2 players will be getting a rather nice thank you for their commitment to the title.

The not so exciting part of the reward is the invite to the Halo: Reach beta.  Not that exciting if you got a Beta Code in Halo 3: ODST.

The infinitely more exciting part is that Microsoft is also offering them three months Xbox Live Gold free of charge AND giving them 400 Microsoft Points.  See, you can drop the ‘$’ in M$ now…

To be fair, it is a nice way of easing the pain over the servers closing and perhaps enticing some of the remaining few die-hards over to Xbox 360, as well as being a very nice gesture.

If you think running off to boot up your Halo 2 disc will get you this reward…too late.  The lucky players have already been contacted.
