GH5: Not All World Tour Songs Are Transferrable

In another of those “oh, how disappointing” moments that seem to exist in life, not all, as originally promised (or hinted at) of the songs from GH: World Tour will be transferrable to Guitar Hero 5.  OK, it’s not that dramatically life altering, but you know what, it still sucks for fans.

Now, only 35 songs from Guitar Hero: World Tour will make the leap into Guitar Hero 5.
Originally, for the grand total of 280 Microsoft Points, along with a unique code from Guitar Hero: World Tour’s manual to prove you own the game, you would’ve obtained the licence to transfer songs from Guitar Hero: World Tour to Guitar Hero 5.

Then it was revealed that not all songs would make the jump – now it’s been confirmed that the number of songs is as low as 35, less than half of World Tour’s 86 tracks. Likewise, only 21 tracks from Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits can be carried across. A bit of a disappointment, all in all.

Here’s the list of compatible songs from World Tour:

“No Sleep Till Brooklyn” – Beastie Boys
“Dammit” – Blink-182
“Livin’ on a Prayer” – Bon Jovi
“Sweet Home Alabama (Live)” Lynyrd Skynyrd
“L’Via L’Viaquez” – The Mars Volta
