Gearbox’s attempt at rehashing the Duke Nukem series, was met with an unusually low-rated title for the studio in 2011, with Duke Nukem Forever not scoring well with critics.
It now seems as Gearbox might not be done with the franchise yet, as studio president Randy Pitchford has expressed to IGN that he may be interested in making a new Duke Nukem title.
“I think what I would do and what Gearbox would do would be a little different. I think it would be amazing, and I look forward to that,” Pitchford said during an video-interview with IGN talking primarily about Borderlands 2.
As MCV point out, Pitchford has previously worked on the Atomic edition of Duke Nukem 3D for Apogee Software/3D Realms Entertainment before leaving the company in 1997, so he might have a nostalgic connection of sorts to the brand.
