Michael Pachter has suggested that PS4 pre-orders are around 1.5 million. He also thinks Sony will encounter “some supply shortages”. He said a little more about things, and you can read all about it here. In France meanwhile, it appears the PS4 has already sold out. Some retailers are saying they won’t be able to fulfil new pre-orders before January 2014.

Sony has confirmed four bundle options in the UK for the PS4. Bundle one is console with a single controller, while the second is the previously revealed Killzone Shadow Fall bundle featuring the PS4 and a copy of the game. The third bundle features the PS4 console and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs, while the fourth is a “Mega Bundle” featuring the PS4 console, Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PlayStation Camera and a second Dual Shock 4 controller.

Microsoft has denied that the Kinect will be used to gather information on users for market research and targeted ads. [More on CVG]

Major Nelson has said that while Microsoft has no plans to release PC peripherals for the Xbox One, third-party support for a mouse and keyboard may be added post-launch. [More on CVG]

Rockstar is suggesting that players should not start a new character to replace missing ones in GTA Online“If you have previously created a character but see an empty character selection screen when entering GTA Online, please back out to GTAV Story Mode and try re-entering GTA Online through the pause menu (repeat or wait until Rockstar cloud servers are back up). Do not create a new character in the empty slot where your character should be. If you receive the message ‘The Rockstar Cloud Servers Are Unavailable’, please return to GTAV Story Mode and follow the steps above. Please do not press “Retry” on the message and do not proceed online with saving disabled, as this may lead to overwriting your existing character. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working on a permanent fix for these issues.”

Players will be required to play “between 20 and 25 minutes” in the modern setting of Assassin’s Creed IV to advance the story, however, you can spend plenty more time than that investigating and exploring. [More on Ubisoft Blog]

There’s a number of items heading to the Xbox Live Game Store over the next week or so, with the most interesting being Telltale Games’ The Wolf Among Us which arrives 11 October for $4.99 for the first episode. There’s more (including sale items), but rather than make you guess, we’ll send you to Major Nelson who has the full skinny.

The next-generation versions of Need for Speed Rivals will release in Europe on 22  November for Xbox One and 29 November for PS4. The game will release in the US for both platforms on 22 November.

The Wii U version of Watch_Dogs is better looking than the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions according to Ubisoft’s creative director Jonathan Morin. [More on CVG]

The next expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic has been confirmed. ‘Galactic Starfighter’ will be a free-to-play expansion and will add PvP combat to the game in the form of 12-on-12 space battles with “a variety of unique starships”. Early Access will start on 3 December, while Preferred Status Players will get the content on 14 January 14. The expansion will be available to the general public on 4 February.

Tecmo Koei has confirmed that Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will release for PC along with the previously announced editions for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is due early 2014.

Mad Catz has announced the release details of their Mojo microconsole. The Android based device will release in the US and UK on 10 December at a price of £219.99 and €249.99. While this is around twice the price of the Ouya, it comes with a 1.8GHz Tegra 4 processor, 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM – a better set of specs than the Ouya.
