News Wrap 01Good morning all. Another week has seemingly flown by. We like to think reading the Gaming News Wrap every day has that effect on a work week.


Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition will allow “cross-brand” and “cross-generational” transfers of game saves. Details of how to do so can be found here.

Diablo 3 will run at 1080p and 60fps on Xbox One with the day one patch.

EA has announced that FIFA 15 will feature all 18 teams from the Turkish Super League (or Süper Lig to give it it’s official name). FIFA 15 will be available on 26 September 26 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PC, Wii, PSV and 3DS.

A number of new cars have been revealed for Forza Horizon 2. The 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO, 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, 2012 Hennessey Venom GT and more have been announced.

Valve has announced the Dota 2 Workshop Tools (in alpha) for the community to start customising the game modes, maps and more. [More…]

A new Counter-Strike has been announced, but this one features us. Yes, it features zombies. Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is a collaboration between Nexon and Valve and will be free-to-play when it launches in the west on Steam during the third quarter of 2014.

Crytek has announced that Ryse: Son of Rome will be heading to the PC, and will feature all the DLC to date and support for 4K resolution. The game is due “this fall” both digitally and via retail. [via Press Release]

Football Manager 2015 will be out in November according to Sports Interactive. More details about the game will be revealed closer to the release.

Godus, Peter Molyneux and 22Cans new god game is now available for iOS platforms. It comes in at 91.5mb and is free to download with in-app purchases in the form of Gems, which cost from $4.99 up to $49.99 per pack. 

Consoles & Hardware

The library of games on the new EA Access subscription service for the Xbox One will be “permanent” and “substantial”. Currently, the games available in the beta include FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Battlefield 4 and Peggle 2, but Peter Moore promises more major titles are coming and that “The Vault will get its share of triple-A titles.” [More…]

Microsoft has announced the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner – capable of delivering over-the-air digital terrestrial TV – for Europe. It will be available beginning late October in the UK for £24.99, and in France, Italy, Germany and Spain for €29.99. [More…]

A mandatory system update (3.18) has been released for the PS Vita which “improves system stability during use of some features”. However, there is speculation that the update nerfs an exploit that allowed users to run homebrew software via the PSP emulator. [More…]

Sales & Discounts

PC gamers can play Battlefield 4 for 168 hours for free via Origin. Origin users have until 14 August to download the full game for free and play it for a week as part of EA’s Origin ‘Game Time‘ promotion.


EA‘s Gamescom line-up includes a new game from Bioware that “will be on stage.” The  press briefing will be livestreamed on Wednesday 13 August at 9am BST/10am CET (4am EST/1am PST). EA will also show off FIFA 15, Battlefield Hardline, The Sims 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Dawngate in Cologne, Germany.

Square Enix had a good first quarter of their 2015 financial year, despite the lack of new releases. Both sales and profit increased for the Japanese firm. [More…]

Gfinity‘s G3 set all sorts of records over this past weekend in London. It’s main numbers were that 8 million online viewers watched, with 4,000 in attendance at the venue which saw $140,000 dished out in prizes.
