There is maintenance planned for the PlayStation Network starting from 2pm GMT  today (Thursday 7 November) until 1am GMT on Friday 8 November in Europe. In the US, the maintenance is scheduled to take place on Thursday between 8am and 3pm Pacific Time. [More on PlayStation Forum]

Sony has announced that the PS3 has surpassed 80 million units sold since the console’s launch on 11 November 2006. [More on CVG]

The promised GTA$ Stimulus Package for GTA Online has started to roll out, and the direct deposit into all the in-game bank accounts will take around two days to complete. [More on Rockstar Newswire]

DICE has released their fourth Battlefield 4 server update in four days, claiming that the update “should fix some of the most common server crashes across all platforms”. [More on Battlelog]

The lower review scores for Call of Duty Ghosts are unlikely to “enormously” impact on sales as the series “is somewhat review-proof” according to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz. [More on CVG]

Retailers spent over $1 billion worldwide to secure their retail stock of Call of Duty Ghosts, and Activision claims that the game is Gamestop’s most pre-ordered next-gen title. No numbers have been revealed in terms of actual sales. [More on Eurogamer] However, Activision did claim that the Ghosts retail spend is down from Black Ops 2 due to “console transition”. What that translates to is that Ghosts has not as yet sold as much as expected. At least that’s our guess.

Activision has achieved “better than expected” results for its third quarter of 2013, despite revenues being down significantly year-on-year. For more on the financial stuff, head here.

A number of “dedicated” Xbox fans will be getting the full version of Killer Instinct free of charge. The free gift is being sent via email, and CVG has confirmed it is legitimate, but can’t confirm what the criteria for being eligible is.

Project CARS by Slightly Mad Studios will be coming to the Xbox One, PS4, Wii U and Steam in “Fall 2014”. [More on AllGamesBeta]

DC Universe Online will use the same servers for both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game. meaning the free-to-play title is cross-generation. [More on PlayStation Blog]

A beta version of the free-to-play Soul Calibur: Lost Swords has been announced. The beta starts on 14 November and will run until 18 November. To participate, you will be required to download the 4GB beta. [More on AllGamesBeta]

A free Knack companion app has been released for iOS devices. Knack’s Quest can be downloaded via iTunes.

Embattled UK retailer Blockbuster who entered administration for the second time in a year have said that valid pre-orders for Xbox One and PS4 will be honoured. [via Facebook]
