Games

There’s a February sale happening on the PS Store, with discounts on a number of games including Tearaway, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, The Wolf Among Us season pass, Knack and more. Check out the full list on the PlayStation Blog.

A uPlay passport will not be required to play South Park: Stick of Truth. According to Obsidian: “uPlay was not integrated at all into South Park: Stick of Truth” and will instead support Steam on PC. [More on CVG]

Rockstar has raided the Social Club crew cap from 300 to 1000. They have also revealed the beta of the ‘Crew Head to Head’ playlist for GTA Online. Details of the update are available on the Rockstar Newswire.

The second episode of the ‘Burial at Sea’ DLC for BioShock Infinite will be available for download from 25 March. It  will be priced at $14.99 USD / £11.99.

Borderlands 2 is getting its final bit of DLC. Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre will be available on 11 February and will cost £2.39 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. [More on IGN]

Concerns over the short length of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes have been addressed by Hideo Kojima. Speaking via Twitter he said: “we hope players will enjoy over & over without boring,” as the game is “not a linear game like the past.”

Reports of issues with the Xbox 360 Season Pass for The Wolf Among Us are filtering in. It is an issue with Microsoft, and Telltale have stated: “We are aware of the issue on Xbox Live Marketplace affecting Season Pass owners of The Wolf Among Us where the user is still prompted to purchase Episode 2 even though they own the Season Pass. There appears to be an issue on Xbox Live affecting multiple titles with DLC offerings and Microsoft is actively working to resolve the issue. We apologise for the inconvenience and are hopeful it will be resolved soon.” [More on Eurogamer]

The ‘Onslaught’ DLC for Call of Duty Ghosts will be available for PS3, PS4 and PC on 27 February.

The remake of Strider will be released digitally on 19 February for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. [More on AllGamesBeta]

Drakengard 3 will be available exclusively for the PS3 on 22 May.

CCP Games plans to erect a monument for all the active players who have played EVE Online in the last ten years. The over five meters tall (16ft) “Worlds Within a World” monument, will be erected in CCP’s hometown of Reykjavik, Iceland and will be unveiled on 30 April. [More on CVG]

Hardware

There are two console updates heading to the Xbox One. One 11 February the bigger of the two is released and will bring USB keyboard support, storage space management and more. On 4 March, an update will be released to prepare for Titanfall. Full details on Xbox Wire.

Industry

Amazon has bought Double Helix – the developer of Killer Instinct and Strider – for an undisclosed amount. [More on AllGamesBeta]

While South Africa prepares for the arrival of tax on digital gaming, the UK is looking for a way to grow gaming by way of proposed tax breaks for British based gaming studios. UK prime minister David Cameron has said that there’s “hopeful of good news to come.” [More on CVG]

Sony is reportedly in talks with The King of Kong director Seth Gordon to direct the Uncharted movie, according to Hollywood news site Deadline. [More on CVG]

eSports

The IeSF (International eSports Federation) has negotiated with TAFISA (The Association for International Sports for All) to add e-sports to the official program in 2016 TAFISA World Sport For All Games (Jakarta, Indonesia).

The PlayStation Store in Europe has received its weekly update, with Outlast being the big one to talk about. There’s more (less frightening titles) available, and they can be seen here.

Ubisoft has announced that the story ‘Freedom Cry’ DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV will now be available as a standalone game. It will be available on 19 February for PS3 and PS4, and 25 February on PC. No details of pricing or whether it will be available on either Xbox.

A beta for the Xbox 360 version of Warface has kicked off. Sign-ups for entry can be done via the official Warface website, but is not open to South Africans.

The ‘Honda Legends’ car pack has been released for Forza 5. Most importantly, it’s free.

Saints Row IV has not one, not even two, but five new DLC packs available. Reverse Cosplay Pack is free, while the Polarizer DLC costs $0.99. For $2.99 there’s College Daze DLC, Game On DLC and the Bling Bling Pack.
