More PS4 PSN functionality has been enabled following the temporary disabling of features during the European launch of the console. The lastest features re-enabled are ‘Live Item’ in the ‘Content Information Screen’, which lets users see their friends’ activity and information specific to the title they’re looking at.
An optional PS3 firmware update (4.53) has been released which improves system stability. [More on CVG]
New details for Destiny have been revealed due to the game’s Game Informer magazine feature. The full list of details have been compiled by CVG and can be found here.
‘Freedom Cry’, the next single-player add-on for Assassin’s Creed IV is due on 17 December. The DLC forms part of the Season Pass and features a our hour-plus story, new multiplayer characters, the exclusive Kraken Ship Pack and additional personalisation options.
Some Xbox owners have been having issues downloading the ‘China Rising’ DLC for Battlefield 4. The issue is with a “limited” number of both Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions.
DICE has put all development of future expansion packs for Battlefield 4, as well as “future projects”, on hold until they have resolved all the current issues with the game. [More on Polygon]
The pricing structure for the Gran Turismo 6 micro-transactions have been confirmed. In-game credits cost real-world money as follows: 500k Cr – $4.99, 1M Cr – $9.99, 2.5M Cr – $19.99, 7.5M Cr – $49.99. Sony has stated that micro-transactions in the game are “completely optional”. [More on CVG]
Blacklight Retribution – the free-to-play FPS – is now available for download to PS4 gamers in Europe.
Doki-Doki Universe will be available on 10 December via digital download for PlayStation 4, PS3 and Vita.
The second campaign for Arma 3 will launch on 21 January as free DLC. ‘Adapt’ will follow on from the events of the first chapter. On 11 December an automatic update on Steam will introduce three additional vehicles (Wy-55 Hellcat helicopter, FV-720 Mora IFV, MBT-52 tank), plus black versions of the MX rifle family, infra-red grenades and the LRPS sniper scope.
Revolution Software has released the first episode of Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse via Steam and GoG for $24.99/£18.99. The game is currently on sale until 11 December at a price of $19.99/£15.19.
More than 30 developers have signed up for Microsoft’s self-publishing program, ID@Xbox. Crytek, Vlambeer and Double Fine are some of the names who have signed up. The full list is on Xbox Wire.
The cast for the World of Warcraft movie has been revealed. Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell and Rob Kazinsky from a variety of films, including Mission: Impossible and Pacific Rim and X-Men, will star.
