An Xbox Live Sale has kicked off on EA titles with savings of up to 75%. Titles on sale include FIFA 14, Need for Speed Rivals, Mass Effect 3 add-ons and more. To go along with the EA sale, a few other titles are available on special for Xbox 360, while Crimson Dragon is discounted by around 20% on Xbox One. [More on Major Nelson]

‘Onslaught’ – the first DLC for Call of Duty Ghosts – is now available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The DLC – which features four new maps, a new episode for Extinction mode and a new weapon – is available as part of the Season Pass or can be purchased separately.

A new Call of Duty Ghosts update has been released (all platforms by the end of today) and brings with it a hefty number of fixes, including eSports rules and Broadcast mode, spawn points, weapon balancing and more. On top of that, two new modes have been added to the playlist – Gun Game mode (which debuted in Black Ops) and Hunting FFA. Full patch notes here.

An upcoming Battlefield 4 update will tweak the vehicles, with a focus on reducing the number of missiles an anti-air vehicle can hold, a reduction of the MAA’s default cannon range, and the reduction of anti-aircraft missiles’ impact. [More on Battlefield Blog]

DICE has announced the Battlefield 4 Player Appreciation Month. As a thank you to the fans, in the month of February you can get a ‘Battlepack a Day’, Shortcut Bundles, Double XP weekend (for Premium members), Community Missions and DICE developer talks. Full details here.

The PS4 version of The Elder Scrolls Online will not require PS Plus to play. Players will therefore only need to pay the same monthly subscription as PC and Mac users. Bethesda has confirmed to Joystiq that the Xbox One will require Xbox Live Gold membership to play, as well as the game’s monthly subscription. The game is out for PC and Mac on 4 April and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June. The Imperial Edition of The Elder Scrolls Online has been leaked by Amazon.

SOE‘s unannounced MMO is not a Star Wars title, but a title that John Smedley thinks “SWG [Star Wars Galaxy] vets will like.” Details are a little then on the ground otherwise.

The Achievements for Thief have been revealed, including one which rewards you for taking your time through the game.

According to a Ubisoft Shanghai employee’s LinkedIn page, Far Cry 4 (or “the next Far Cry”) has been in development since at least September 2013.

The director of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Dean Evans, is currently in the early stages of planning a new, unannounced Ubisoft project. [More on Polygon]

PS3 backward compatibility on the PS4 will be coming via the PlayStation Now streaming service – that was announced previously. Now it appears that PS1 and PS2 games will be arriving on the PS4 (with the possibility of HD visual enhancements) via a software emulation. The information comes by way of Digital Foundry.

Microsoft is apparently planning to “tweak” the Xbox One to squeeze more power out of the console. Sources say Microsoft is planning to untap power reserved for the Kinect camera which will help improve the console’s overall graphics processing power and come closer to rivalling the PS4. The extra power gained will apparently equate to an 8% increase. [More on Express]

EA has posted a net loss of around $308 million for its third fiscal quarter ended 31 December 2013. This may in part be due to lower sales of Battlefield 4 on last-gen consoles, which was in turn blamed on the console transition. This is on the back of 1.6 million gamers subscribing to Battlefield Premium.
