Games

The deals on the Xbox Games Store this week include some Xbox One games which are discounted by between 20% and 50%. Thief, Tomb Raider and Call of Duty Ghosts are discounted on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360, while BioShock games and add-ons are also discounted on the Xbox 360. [More on Major Nelson]

A seasons and ladders system is coming to Diablo 3, and will arrive as part of the first major post-Reaper of Souls content patch. [More on Diablo Fans]

The PC version of the ‘Naval Strike’ DLC for Battlefield 4 has been delayed. The other versions will release as scheduled, but the PC version has “an issue and it needs to be solved”. [More on Battlelog]

EA is considering an every second year release of EA Sports UFC. The final decision of the release regularity is still to be made, but the first game in the series is due to hit PS4 and Xbox One in spring. [More on CVG]

Creative Assembly has announced that it plans to announce a release date for Alien: Isolation at EGX Rezzed. [More on Eurogamer]

Telltale’s episodic Game of Thrones series will occur concurrently with the TV show and is not a prequel, however, the game will offer you more of the world to explore. [More on Digital Trends]

Epic’s Fortnite has “evolved” since its unveiling some time back. However, there is no release date being touted.

A new update for Dust 514 has been released and brings new dropsuits, new cloaking equipment, new sidearms and equipment, weapon and dropsuit rebalancing. [More on the official website]

Bravely Default maybe expanded to consoles other than the 3DS in the future, however, Silicon Studio doesn’t “have a clear plan yet”. [More on CVG]

US PS Vita owners who are PS Plus members can score Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for free right now.

Ouya plans to have its operating system available for download and installation on external Android devices withing six months. [More on Digital Spy]

Industry

Facebook has announced that it has agreed to a figure of around $2 billion to acquire Oculus VR. [More on AllGamesBeta]

Xbox One prices have been cut in the US – both for a limited time, and seemingly permanently. Hopefully, this will be followed in other countries. It does appear that some retailers in the US have cut their prices too. [More on Engadget]

EA will not be the worst company in America again this year, as they have been knocked in the first round out of the tournament by Time Warner Cable. [More on CVG]

Layoffs have hit three PlayStation UK studios, including DriveClub studio Evolution. [More on CVG] Coinciding with this is the announcement by DriveClub game director, Col Rodgers, who has left Evolution to form a new indie studio. [More on VideoGamer]

The sale of PS4s in the UK have jumped 106% following the release of inFamous: Second Son.

Peter Molyneux reckons people should enjoy the indie craze now… “because it won’t last.” Jeez, you sound like a grumpy old man. [More on CVG]

Phil Harrison would “love to see Supercell bring something to Xbox One.” Supercell is the Finnish studio behind mobile title Clash of Clans. [More on CVG]

Seth Killian has confirmed that he has left Sony Santa Monica. In fact he left them in December last year, but only confirmed so this week.

Steam Greenlight will be gone within a year according to Curve Studios design director Jonathan “Bidds” Biddle.
