Games

DICE has tasked the Battlefield community with a challenge to unlock a third mode in the upcoming Battlefield Hardline beta. From now until 8am GMT on Sunday players need to accumulate a combined two billion points on Battlefield 4’s Rush mode. Completing this challenge will unlock ‘Heist’ in the beta. They have also announced plans for more Battlefield 4 content this year and a number of giveaways. [More…]

A new Assassin’s Creed Unity DLC pack entitled Secrets of the Revolution has been released. Three missions (previously available to pre-order customers and season pass owners), eight weapons, and six pieces of gear are added for PC (£5.49), Xbox One (£5.59 / $6.99), and on PS4 ($6.99).

Spiders – the developer of Bound by Flames and Mars War Log – has revealed its new RPG, The Technomancer. [via Twitter]

The free-to-play MOBA (with in-app purchases), The Witcher: Battle Arena, will hit iOS and Android devices today.

This week’s deals on Xbox Live include Dead Rising 3 and Sunset Overdrive on Xbox One, and Skyrim, Farm Simulator and The Crew Platinum Pack on Xbox 360. The items discounted are valid through 26 January. Details here.

Theme Hospital is now available for free as part of Origin’s ‘On the House’ promotion.

Industry

Powers, the ten-part PlayStation exclusive TV series, will be available from 10 March. The first three episodes will be available on release with the remaining episodes following weekly. The pilot episode is free to all PlayStation owners, while PS Plus members will be able to enjoy the entire series for free.

Alien: Isolation has sold over one million units in just over three months since its launch. [via Twitter]

The Elder Scrolls Online will be released for Xbox One and PS4 on 9 June. The even better news is that the game will no longer require a monthly subscription fee, but will be free-to-play. There are still subscription and payment options available, but that’s dependent on whether you want exclusive (but “optional”) additional content or not. Microsoft has revealed a new augmented reality headset. HoloLens is still a work in progress but Microsoft said that it will debut “during Windows 10’s lifecycle”.
