A number of Games on Demand have been discounted by at least 33% on Xbox Live – some as much as 75%. Call of Duty Ghosts is 33% cheaper until next week, while Final Fantasy XIII-2, The Witcher 2, Tales of Vesperia and D&D: Chronicles of Mystara are discounted by 67%. PS3 game Brothers A Tale of Two Sons and PSP and Vita game Worms: Battle Islands is now available free to US PS Plus subscribers.

The US PlayStation Store update also adds inFamous: Second Son for digital pre-order, along with the usual new content, all of which can be seen here.

Killzone Shadow Fall will get the first of its clan functionality via patch 1.09 which will arrive in early February. The full support for clans will be added over multiple updates. [More on CVG]

A demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has been released for Xbox Live Gold members and PS3 gamers in the US. PS3 gamers in Europe will get the demo today, while Xbox Live Silver subscribers will be able to download the demo on 28 January. The full game is available on 11 February in North America and 14 February in Europe.

Lionhead has confirmed that it is working on a non-Fable title. No details of what exactly the game is about have been revealed yet.

New tombs were considered for the Definitive Edition of Tomb Raider, but Crystal Dynamics decided to rather focus on working on the sequel. [More on CVG]

The developer of Don’t Starve (Klei Entertainment) is investigating a PS Vita version of the game. The game had sold one million copies prior to its release for free to PS Plus subscribers on the PS4. [More on Edge]

Telltale Games has pulled all four episodes of their Wallace and Gromit: Grand Advetures game from online stores. The game has been pulled as their licensing agreement has expired. [More on CVG]

A growing number of PS4 gamers are reporting that their console is corrupting save data and rendering some games unplayable. Players getting a CE-34878-0 error should follow the suggestions as set out on the Sony support page. Sony is investigating further. [More on Eurogamer]

Alienware is planning to release an update Steam Machine annually. This will be the case due to its Steam Machine’s complete lack of upgradeability. [More on CVG]


Reports suggest that Microsoft is paying YouTube gamers to praise the Xbox One and its games. Videos qualify if it includes at least 30 seconds of Xbox One game footage, mentions Xbox One by name and adds an ‘XB1M13’ tag. The promotion reportedly targets Machinima video partners, and offers them $3 for every 1,000 hits they receive.
