While some analysts predict that Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U won’t match their predecessor’s sales’, pre-orders of the new consoles appear to say otherwise. Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot has said that “Some retailers, not all of them, are saying pre-orders two times than what they saw in the last generation launch.” Microsoft’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb has almost confirmed that for the Xbox One saying that pre-orders are “trending higher” than that of Xbox 360 during its respective pre-launch period.

Microsoft’s Xbox Division has reported a growth due to Xbox Live growing nearly 20 per cent in the latest financial quarter. [More on CVG]

Microsoft is still passionate about indie developers and plan to reveal its Xbox One publishing policies “very soon”, according to Lionhead’s Gary Carr. Maybe at Gamescom then… [More on OXM]

Ubisoft will not be holding a press conference at Gamescom this year. [More on MCV] The publisher has also pushed the release of an unannounced franchise from the current fiscal year to the next which ends March 2015. So that means there is something new to look forward to. [More on CVG]
