Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now available for free to Xbox Live Gold members. The Games With Gold title will be available until the end of January, at which point it will revert back to costing £9.99 / $14.99.
A patch has been released for the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty Ghosts. The 106MB download adds fixes to the Broadcaster Mode and a few a restrictions in the #CODeSports ruleset.
A beta is set for Titanfall on the Xbox One. Invites have been issued by EA to a growing number of people in preparation of a trial prior to the game’s 11 March release. The beta will only be a limited technical trial for now with a proper beta coming later. [More on OXM]
Rockstar is cracking down on GTA Online cheats. According to the Rockstar Newswire, “a small number of Grand Theft Auto Online players sought to exploit the game by generating and distributing game-breaking amounts of in-game cash, disrupting the experience for other players.” Rockstar plans to punish the cheaters by placing them “in isolated cheater pools” or banning them from GTA Online altogether.

IO Interactive is working on the next Hitman for PC and next-gen consoles. In an open letter to fans, the studio said the game will let you “experience a globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career – the apex predator stalking his prey across the world, with the support of his long-term handler Diana Burnwood and the whole of the ICA.” The game will be based on the Glacier 2 engine, and Contracts Mode will be back, while Agent 47’s “magic pockets” have been removed. The levels will also be huge, checkpoint-free sandbox levels. More details will be forthcoming during the coming months.
The release date for DriveClub will be announced “shortly” but it does appear that it will miss the release of the PS4 in Japan on 22 February. “Thank you for your patience,” said Sony’s rep to IGN.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare has been delayed by a week. The (most likely timed) Xbox exclusive will now be out on 25 February in North America and 27 February in Europe.
Ubisoft is planning to bring Tetris to the PS4 and Xbox One. The publisher announced the partnership with The Tetris Company but have not elaborated on exact titles or release dates.
Frogwares is developing the next-gen Call of Cthulu game. First screens has been released.
BT Games is having a clearance sale on deluxe, limited and collector’s editions of recent (and not so recent) games. The Prestige Edition of Ghosts is now R1500, while God of War Ascension Collector’s Edition is R600 with the Kratos figurine. The Xbox One was December’s best selling console in the US according to NPD. The console sold around 908,000 units, while the Xbox 360 sold around 643,000 to finish third.
