Sony has trademarked the rumoured PS4 slogan “Greatness Awaits”.  We shall just see about that later this year shall we? [via Siliconera]

According to sources (the Verge’s) Microsoft will be scrapping their Points system and switching to real world currency.  The announcement may happen next week or at E3.

In more news involving scrapping stuff – EA is planning to kick the Online Pass system to the kerb. [via CVG]

EA is planning to open a ‘DICE LA” studio which will focus on Star Wars projects.  The news follows rumours of the closure of the Danger Close studio. [via CVG]

There’s new goodies available on the EU PlayStation Store, including free-to-play Dust 514 and more.  PlayStation Plus information for June, which includes Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Demon’s Souls.  For free.

Avalanche Studios chief creative officer Christofer Sundberg has revealed that they have an open-world steampunk game in the works, but that the project is currently on hold.  The recent bout of sepia images released were related to this project.  There is always a chance that after they finish the rumoured Just Cause 3 and Mad Max, this project will continue. This new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag trailer is ‘Under a Black Flag’.

The launch trailer for the ‘Blade Wolf’ DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been released.  And so has the content itself.  It will cost you 560MSP on Xbox 360 and €6.99 on PS3.

DARK is looking like the first vampire inspired game in ages to make us want to drink your blood.  And eat your flesh.  Sorry, zombies, eh?

Ubisoft has seen sales hit £1 billion for the recent financial year.  Of that positive news, Far Cry 3 is a large part of hit, having sold over six million copies.  Assassin’s Creed 3 has more than doubled that with sales exceeding 12.5 million.  However, the firm does not expect Assassin’s Creed IV to outsell this.  The only negative news from the Ubisoft camp at the moment is that Patrice Desilets title 1666 has been put on hold for “undisclosed period of time”.  The firm otherwise has two major unannounced games due before April 2014.
