Respawn Entertainment is “definitely thinking about” a Titanfall beta, but they “don’t have an answer yet” as to when – or whether – there will be one. The developers also decided against any kind of Kinect support, as the device “didn’t fit the game”. [More on GameSpot]

Microsoft is looking at ensuring there are more demos on the Xbox One going forward, after concerns were raised about the lack of trial versions of games on the platform. Larry ‘Major Nelson Hyrb’ said in a forum post on his blog: “It is (and always has been) up to game developers to do demos for their own games. They’ll be more demos for Xbox One as the platform goes forward.” [via OXM]

The release schedule for the Xbox Live Game Store is available via Major Nelson’s blog. The highlights include the second season of The Walking Dead, discounted first season of The Walking Dead , ‘China Rising’ DLC for Battlefield 4, a Ubisoft sale, and a ‘Countdown to 2014’ sale.

The first DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV is now available for download. ‘Blackbeard’s Wrath’ multiplayer content pack adds three new multiplayer characters at a price of £2.39 and weighing in at 2.40 MB.

The Thief companion app will be available in December and will bring second screen functionality when the game launches next year. Other new features will be added to the iOS and Android app when the full game hits PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 25 February.

A mandatory Xbox One system update is now available. The update “addresses” a number of issues for “some users”, including SmartGlass issues, multiplayer issues and more. Details – and how to download the update – are available via Major Nelson.

The PS4 accounts for around 10% of all Twitch streaming since the console launched in North America on 15 November. A total of 20 million minutes of footage (and 38 years) has been broadcast across Twitch and Ustream in that time. That ‘Share’ button has worked overtime. [More on PlayStation Blog]
