2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil has been announced for Xbox 360 and PS3 but not Xbox One and PS4 as EA Sports wants to “create a great game within our development resources that could reach as many people as possible”. In other words, there are not enough Xbox Ones and PS4s sold yet… [More on CVG]

However, EA does plan to bring FIFA 14 players on the Xbox One “a range of engaging content, promotions and tournament within FIFA Ultimate Team” which allows players to “experience the World Cup in unique and fun ways”. [More on VideoGamer]

Far Cry Classic will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in US on 11 February for $9.99. The game has already been announced for the EU as part of a Far Cry compilation titled ‘Far Cry Wild Expeditions’ which will be available from 14 February for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Meet the IMC – The Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation – from Titanfall. They feature a South African mercenary among their ranks… The game has also had SmartGlass support confirmed for it. No details were given as to how the intergration will work.

Ubisoft Reflections – the studio behind The Driver series and The Crew – is working with Massive on The Division. They are “working on all systems of the game. Main characters, enemies, RPG pillars, building Manhattan, our Core technology, online components, and so on.” In an interview with Develop, MD Pauline Jacquey also revealed that the studio assisted with Watch Dogs and Just Dance.

According to a report by Digital Foundry, the recent Xbox One Call of Duty Ghosts update has negatively impacted on the games framerates. They have requested comment from Infinity Ward and Activision but are still awaiting a response.

The are “currently no plans” for a new patch for Batman: Arkham Origins as the team is “working hard on the upcoming story DLC”.  This is according to a community manager on the official WB Games website. [More on CVG]

An image of the special edition of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has appeared on AllGamesBeta. An art book and special edition Belmont box are the main draw cards.

Flappy Bird has been removed from the App Store and Google Play as the game’s creator, Dong Nguyen, feels the game has ruined his “simple life”. The game has been making $50,000 a day, and has been downloaded at least 50 million times across smartphones. [More on CVG]


Activision‘s Kristin Southey has said in an interview that the company didn’t expect the Xbox One and PS4 to sell as well as it did, however demand for the games is  “weaker than expected”. [More on OXM]

Sony says that more than half of PS4 owners are PS Plus subscribers. [More on CVG]
