In case you missed it, the release of the PlayStation 4 in South Africa has been delayed according to local distributor Ster Kinekor. The original launch date of 6 December is no longer valid, but the distributor has announced that the new date will only be a week later on 13 December.

GTA Online is launching today. The multiplayer addition to GTA V will be via a title update from around 7am ET (in the US and Canada) and 9pm Eastern Australian time. Np times have been specified yet for the UK and Europe. More details and other information about the multiplayer component can be found on the Rockstar Newswire.

SCE UK boss Fergal Gara says the digital version of Killzone Shadow Fall weighs in at 50GB. Thank goodness for the PS4’s Play As You Download functionality. “The Play As You Download functionality, for example, means you don’t need the whole file before you go. This is a little bit counterbalanced by the fact the files themselves are getting bloody big. Killzone: Shadow Fall is an uber file – I think it’s cracking on for 50GB. Guerrilla Games‘ new IP is “something completely different to Killzone” according to the firm’s lead designer Eric Boltjes. No details were given of course. [More on Eurogamer]

The Battlefield 4 beta kicks off today for the lucky few, with the rest being able to join in from 4 October. Grab the beta to get an early taste of the game’s Siege of Shanghai map in Conquest and Domination modes on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

A US poll of 1,297 people has revealed that 26% of respondents have an interest in buying a PS4 during the holiday season, with only 15% chosing the Xbox One. [More on CVG]

Halo 3 has joined Might & Magic Clash of Heroes as October’s Games with Gold titles. Halo 3 will be available for free to all Gold Live members from 16 October, with Might & Magic Clash of Heroes available from today.

Ubisoft Montreal is planning a restructuring which will bring about 500 new jobs over the next seven years. [More on AllGamesBeta]

Eidos Life President Ian Livingstone has announced his resignation from Square Enix. He is planning to spend more time focusing on “important projects he is working on outside of Square Enix.” [More on Square Enix]

Sega currently has no plans to localise Yakuza 5 for a Western release, as the team is focusing on making their next game – Yakuza Isshin – for the Sony platforms. [More on Edge]

Atlus is teasing a 24 November announcement from the Persona team.

Assassin’s Creed IV will be available in the UK on 1 November for Xbox 360 and PS3, with the Xbox One, PS4, PC and Wii U versions available from 22 November. Ubisoft has also released this new trailer, as well as a host of new screens available here.

Rain (or is it rain?) has a launch trailer. The game is available on the US PS Store from today and on the EU Store from tomorrow.
