GameStop CEO Believes Xbox 720 or Playstation 4 Will Arrive in 2013

The GameStop CEO, Paul Raines believes we will see either the next consoles from either Microsoft or Sony launch next year, but not both. Raines also believes the remaining console will launch in the following year, 2014.

Speaking to TheVerge [as cited by GameSpot], Raines backed his speculation by saying he is “getting a lot of rumors that are very interesting about 2013.”

“We have not been expecting two more consoles in 2013. We’re expecting Wii U this holiday, another one next year, and another one in ’14,” he said.

“These rumors change every week, but we’re hearing more about next year.”

These suggestions by the CEO of the biggest gaming retailer in the world follows previous findings that one of the gaming giants’ next console will be launched next year.

Gamespot remind us that documents surfaced in June which indicated that Microsoft’s next-gen console would launch in 2013, and also note that Sony had previously said it does not expect to announce its new hardware until after Microsoft does.
