Look at us bucking the trend. We’ve managed to find a gamer that’s not a “ninja”. Sadly, like so many of you, today’s gamer still appears to be partial to killing zombies. There really isn’t much love for the undead no matter which country you are originally from…
Go ahead. Introduce yourself. Don’t be shy.
Hi I’m Peloma Alexandria Peralta, a 23yr old from Alcala de Henares [Spain – Geographical Undead Ed] and have been in SA for 4 years now. I’m obsessive about my gaming, currently a marketing assistant and also an admin on the Gamebuddies FB page (We are an awesome page worth a visit). I think some CoD players on PSN might know me as PeaPixie/Ares-AoW.
What’s your platform of choice? Why?
My first love is the 360, I don’t know why maybe it’s the avatar or that sound it makes when it switches on, I seriously don’t know all I know is that I love that console and fact an FPS plays better on it… (Chill PC people I know nothing beats a mouse and keyboard but on consoles 360 is the way to go).
Can you remember the first time you ‘gamed’?
When I was in the womb my mama used to play Donkey Kong, I guess I’ve been gaming since then. Seriously though there are 2 stages of when a person starts gaming for me, the first stage is when you are young and you game because it’s fun and it passes the time, for me that was when I was 7 when the kid next door let me play his NES.
The 2nd stage is when you appreciate gaming for what it truly is, an awesome form of entertainment and a great way to escape reality, that for me was when I was 17 and played Soldier of Fortune and Heretic.
How long have you been gaming?
17 Years including my fledgling years.
When do you think you’ll stop gaming?
When the Pope gets married.
Are you a serious gamer? Or do you enjoy a laugh?
I’m the least competitive person you will meet, it’s all for laughs when I play multiplayer but the weird thing is when I play singleplayer I get super serious.
Singleplayer or multiplayer?
I’m a singleplayer type of girl cause I enjoy my adventure, sandbox games and RPGs but turn to multiplayer when I need a good laugh and to de-stress.
Is playing online important to you?
It wasn’t before but since I became part of a clan it is.
Are you a member of a clan? Who are they and why?
I’m a member of the AoW clan, it’s a CoD PS3 clan. I joined them because they are a very laidback clan (they have to be to accept someone with my KD). It’s a very social clan and we are more like a dysfunctional family but don’t let that deceive you we have some awesome players.
Favourite game currently?
Black Ops 2 would have been my answer 2 weeks ago cause I adored the singleplayer but now it’s with no doubt Far Cry 3 – you get to kill sharks and it has one of the most memorable villains I’ve come across in gaming …yes, you Vaas.
Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming? What?
When I’m not gaming I’m sleeping or working or watching a cool TV series or reading a novel or watching football. Come to think of it I don’t think I have a serious hobby outside of gaming… is that a bad thing?
You’re stranded on a desert island and a genie grants you five items. Name them:
A game: Far Cry 3
A CD: It’s a triple tie between Fever Ray, Slipknot and ACDC. I guess I will have to flip a coin…wait that won’t work
A movie or TV series: Walking Dead
An organic life form: Fernando Torres
Something edible or drinkable: Pizza – the food of the gods
What’s the most embarrassing or worst game you’ve ever bought or received as a gift?
I bought Rogue Warrior a long time ago; don’t ask me what medication I was taking when I bought it because that was definitely my gaming low point. A truly fudging horrible game.
If you were a game designer, describe your ultimate game design.
I absolutely adored LA Noire and I think they should be more investigative adventure games on consoles.
You are a homicide detective and are tracking down a serial killer a Ted Bundy type will be the main story but you get to work other cases in the interim.
Lots of interrogations, throw is some hostage negotiation now and again and some shoot outs of course.
Maybe this game is influenced by my love of the Crime Channel.
The zombie apocalypse has happened. You’re facing down a ravenous zombie horde. What weapon do you grab?
A huge ass knife, a line from my favourite movie sums it up “a knife never runs out of ammo”.
In the aforementioned zombie apocalypse you humans are all toast. Become a turncoat and assist the superior zombies or stay with the soon to be wiped out human resistance?
Stay with the humans and form a strong bond with the last survivors, some of which will die a painful death while my husband a former deputy sheriff tries to guide us with the help of his friend who is great at hunting…Wait that’s Walking Dead… I would still stick with the humans.
Thanks for taking the time to answer our silly questions. What game are you off to play now that you’re done?
FARCRY 3… !!!!!!!!!!
