nix2Today’s gamer is no mystery. In fact, we have all the details we need to sort out this zombie hater…

Go ahead.  Introduce yourself.  Don’t be shy.

Hey guys! I’m Nikita Metzler, or MYST3RY-N1CKY as others know me by, but you can call me Nicky. I live in Joburg, I’m 22 years old and I don’t like zombies!!  (Sorry Zombie Dredd) 😛 [It’s all good. *cries* – ZD]

What’s your platform of choice?  Why?

Definitely has to be PS3, because of the awesome games and also a great PS3 gaming community, or maybe it’s just because I’m a fangirl.

Can you remember the first time you ‘gamed’?

Not quite. It was a very long time ago, but I do remember playing on a NES console. Ice Climber and Track & Field FTW!!!

How long have you been gaming?

Since the age of 8 so for about 14 years now.

When do you think you’ll stop gaming?

The day they stop making games or I die from a zombie apocalypse (Whichever comes first). [We’re pretty willing to put money on an apocalypse first. – Undead Ed]

Are you a serious gamer?  Or do you enjoy a laugh?

I used to be way too serious. Everything had to be done my way and I didn’t want any help from anyone. I’d rage if I was stuck on a level that I couldn’t pass and I’d even punch my brother if he was next to me.

Now I mostly play for fun and unwind after a stressful day at work by shooting people online in Call of Duty! Haha.

Singleplayer or multiplayer?

Always multiplayer. I can never play single player games for too long as I get bored of it quickly. If I buy a game that has multiplayer then I skip single player mode.

Is playing online important to you?

Yes. Being able to interact with other players online is what makes gaming all the better for me.

Are you a member of a clan?  Who are they and why?

Yes. My first, and main clan, is RSS (Red Soldier Syndicate) and we are a Call of Duty clan. I’ve been with RSS for about 2 years now and they’re a swaggity bunch of guys.

I’m also in an awesome GiRL GaMErS (SWAG) clan. We’re bringing the female gaming community together and it’s great to see how the clan is growing with more girl gamers.

Favourite game currently?

Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming?  What?

If I don’t spend my time gaming, then I go paintballing or quad biking.

You’re stranded on a desert island and a genie grants you five items.  Name them:

A game: GTA V or the latest CoD (with internet connection, of course!).
A CD: A mix CD with all my favourite songs.
A movie or TV series: Grey’s Anatomy.
An organic life form: Max Thieriot from Bates Motel!
Something edible or drinkable: Woolworths’ Full Cream Toffee Flavoured Milkshake.

What’s the most embarrassing or worst game you’ve ever bought or received as a gift?

If you were a game designer, describe your ultimate game design.

A FPS type of game, where you can build your own base and kill any monstrous creatures or enemies that try to attack you. You can also attack other online players but with a supernatural twist… Each player will be able to choose one superpower that they can use to their advantage. Something like Call of Duty, X-Men and DayZ combined.

Zombies_kill-all-the-zombiesThe zombie apocalypse has happened.  You’re facing down a ravenous zombie horde (which may or may not include members of ZG in bikinis).  What weapon do you grab?

Rocket Launcher with infinite ammo! KILL ALL THE ZOMBIES!! [Kill all humans! Nah, we love you all. For your brains. – Undead Ed]

In the aforementioned zombie apocalypse you humans are all toast.  Become a turncoat and assist the superior zombies or stay with the soon to be wiped out human resistance?

I will try to stay away from the zombies for as long as I can and with my Rocket Launcher, zombies will want to stay away from me too. Hehe.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our silly questions.  What game are you off to play now that you’re done?

You’re welcome! I’m off to play some GTA Online now. Need to kill some people.

Thanks for the interview!
