Gamer of the Week: CuRz3D

Curzed

We thought three weeks in a row might be a little much, and we were proved right.  This week’s gamer is not as much of a zombie lover as the previous two.  CuRz3D is happy to kill at least “500 zombies”.  What did we ever do to you?  Or is that what the Teletubbies have taught people?

Go ahead.  Introduce yourself.  Don’t be shy.

Name is Thys “CuRz3D” Hustwayte.

What’s you platform of choice?  Why?

That will have to be PC based platform.  Competitive gaming in South Africa from a PC platform compared to others and the variety of game titles available is by far the biggest, also having your own machine that you can personalize (example: Keyboard, Mouse, Headsets – And then PC spec’s) adds a whole new dimension to it.

Can you remember the first time you ‘gamed’?

Yes that would be in Grade 2, started on the old TV station gaming console, still played Mario brothers. Old classic!

How long have you been gaming?

I have been playing games for the last 18 years and going on my 8th year of professional competitive gaming.

When do you think you’ll stop gaming?

The day I can’t move anymore, haha…

Are you a serious gamer?  Or do you enjoy a laugh?

I do both, you can’t always be serious. It’s nice from time to time getting into a new game title and having fun again but when you are taking on the best the country has to offer in a showdown, play time is over.

Singleplayer or multiplayer?

Definitely Multiplayer, besides the time and effort placed into designing fantastic single player titles on the market. I love the dimension multiplayer adds to a game.

Is playing online important to you?

Yes, I like feeling still “normal” and “connected” to other people whilst playing. Don’t want to end up alone in this world without any “real” friends.

Are you a member of a clan?  Who are they and why?

Yes, I am in a clan called Veneration eSports, who is a multi-gaming organisation supporting various gaming titles at the moment and have some of the best individual and team based players in the country.

Favourite game currently?

Easy… Black Ops 2.

Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming?  What?

Yes, I am a professional dancer, I play league Soccer and I am sure some of my friends would say drinking is another hobby of mine… Haha.

You’re stranded on a desert island and a genie grants you five items.  Name them:

A game: Black Ops 2
A CD: I take it this is music? Linkin Park
A movie or TV series: Movie – Zombieland
An organic life form: Teletabie (Funky colours, I won’t stand out). [He might have meant the Teletubbies… We hope not… – Undead Ed]
Something edible or drinkable: Jägermeister! Can’t get enough (Maybe some Volt Energy drinks as well).

If you were a game designer, describe your ultimate game design.

Free world survival game, anything goes, the more realistic – the better.

The zombie apocalypse has happened.  You’re facing down a ravenous zombie horde (which may or may not include members of ZG in bikinis).  What weapon do you grab?

Give me a Katana, obviously not blunt then I should be fine for the first 500 zombies or so.

In the aforementioned zombie apocalypse you humans are all toast.  Become a turncoat and assist the superior zombies or stay with the soon to be wiped out human resistance?

It would be too easy to give up. I would take my chances with the doomed human race and go down till the last bite!

Thanks for taking the time to answer our silly questions.  What game are you off to play now that you’re done?

Right now, unfortunately – the game called “Life”. Ciao for now, thanks for the opportunity!

We welcome all gamers, regardless of age, sex, creed, platform or whether you’re human or zombie.  There’s no discrimination around here, so feel free to contact us if you are keen to feature in this column in the future at info@zombiegamer.co.za and we’ll think about – after you’ve sent us a sample of your braaaaaaiiiiinnnnsss.
