Gamer of the Week: Bianca

In case this need pointing out... Bianca is on the left.

In case this need pointing out… Bianca is on the left.

If we mentioned we met today’s gamer in a bar, some may misconstrue the situation.  However, we did.  It’s proof of the success of taking gaming into new and untested spaces and finding other like minded souls frequent the place.

We met Bianca at our weekly Monday night Trenchtown gaming events where she was proving she had rhythm to Just Dance, and it turned out she was a zombie lover.  So that makes her gamer of the zombie apocalypse in our books.

Go ahead.  Introduce yourself.  Don’t be shy.

Bianca Clarke, 29. Compulsive gamer, procrastinator and preparer for the zombie apocalypse.

What’s you platform of choice?

Playstation 3.

I prefer the Playstation controller to the Xbox controller, I prefer the game play of the PS games over Xbox.

Can you remember the first time you ‘gamed’?

Yoh, been gaming on PC since I was a kid. First game I can remember playing was probably Lemmings.

How long have you been gaming?

Since I was about 7 years old if you include arcade games.

When do you think you’ll stop gaming?

Yes, when my heart stops beating.

Are you a serious gamer?

I am. I get quite enmeshed in the games I play and then spend the time when I’m not gaming, obsessing about what I’m going to do when I play next.

Or do you enjoy a laugh?

I enjoy a laugh to calm my game rage…

Singleplayer or multiplayer?

Both but I prefer RPGs so I usually play single player.

Is playing online important to you?

MMORPGs are fun but far too time consuming.

Are you a member of a clan?

Favourite game currently?

Playing Soul Reaver 2 on the PS2.

Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming? What?

Yes. I do yoga, volunteer work and I am a stand-up comic.

You’re stranded on a desert island and a genie grants you five items.  Name them:

A game: Myst
A CD: Thom York – The Erasure
A movie or TV series: Battlestar Galactica as well as the movies and follow on series (Caprica)
An organic life form: My cats (they’d have to battle to the death to claim their place)
Something edible or drinkable: Milo and Chipniks

What’s the most embarrassing or worst game you’ve ever bought or received as a gift?

I haven’t had one but if I had to imagine one that would be the worst choice as a present would be anything sports related.

If you were a game designer, describe your ultimate game design.

Open-sandbox, strategy, puzzle and quest based, fantasy themed. Zombies wouldn’t go a miss either.

The zombie apocalypse has happened.  You’re facing down a ravenous zombie horde (which may or may not include members of ZG in bikinis).  What weapon do you grab?

I would grab a shot gun and sling a base ball bat on my back.

In the aforementioned zombie apocalypse you humans are all toast.  Become a turncoat and assist the superior zombies or stay with the soon to be wiped out human resistance?

Become a turncoat (I always choose the Darkside). [Correct answer… – Undead Ed]

Thanks for taking the time to answer our silly questions.  What game are you off to play now that you’re done?

Soul Reaver 2.
