The weekly gaming nights at Trenchtown in Observatory, Cape Town are now pretty much entrenched (yeah, we’re clever wordsmiths us) on Monday nights, and from next month, the schedule will become available for your planning enjoyment.
We’re ending the first month of events with what appears to be the most demanded of games – FIFA 13. If you are even mildly interested in testing your skills against other virtual football teams controlled by real life opponents, then head to Trenchtown on 25 February at 7pm.
Numbers dependent, the tournament may run as a round-robin, single elimination or even double elimination. R20 gets you registered for the event, but if you just want to catch what is going on and socialise, there is no charge. Included in all this (every Monday night) are stand-up comedians to make you laugh after your Real Madrid side was beaten by Bradford City (yes, unlikely we know…). We might have a deal too for registered players to pay a little more and get a little food – but we are still awaiting confirmation. There are of course, daily specials at the bar and food to order.
But, no-one is ever completely happy unless there’s a little something to play for. In this case, we are happy to oblige too. Trenchtown, Cheap Codes and 2upGamers (along with the undead) have you covered.
The winner next Monday will score a R300 Trenchtown Voucher, a R100 voucher from Cheap Codes and free entry (valued at R80) to the 2upGamers event on Friday, 1 March. This entry to 2upGamers also ensures a seeded entry into the Liquid Blast Africa (FIFA 13) Cup being held at the event, which will boast its own prize. Overall, that’s not too bad a reason to kick a virtual ball around right?
Head down to 92 Lower Main Road, Observatory, Cape Town on Monday (25 February) from 7pm and I’m sure we will all have a ball…
