**UPDATE 2**

Thank you again to all those that offered to assist. We have now closed the registration for volunteers.

**UPDATE 1**

Thank you to everyone that has volunteered so far, your support is humbling and much appreciated.

We are generally sorted for Saturday and Sunday now, so will not be accepting any more offers for assistance on those days currently. Thursday and Friday however is another matter, and there are spots available on those days.

Thanks again.
The Zombies

Many have asked before about how they can get involved with what we zombies along with our human associates at Orena, Clan Connection and TGN Racing Simulators do. So how about we give you a chance to jump on in and find out in the fastest way possible – on the floor at the Electronics & Gaming Expo.

There’s just not enough of us to keep things ticking over, and this year, we will be looking for volunteers willing to shed blood, sweat tears and generally work their fingers to the bone. Well, we’d rather not sugarcoat it. It’s a long day of watching other people play games.

Already from the build-up on Thursday 28 July 2016 we need help, because these things don’t set themselves up on their own you know. Then heading into the expo itself, we need assistance with score taking, ‘technical’ support (knowing your left trigger from the right is a good start) and general help to make the activities in Hall 3 a success.

So what is in this for you? Well, the truth is that the Thursday help is all feelgood factor related and knowing you helped setup a table that the champion sat at. We’ll be there all day and any amount of time you can spend assisting with the tasks needed (setting up, carrying boxes, unpacking boxes and generally making things ready) would be appreciated.

For the main expo days of 29 to 31 July your job will be to assist us with tournament admin, general operations and some menial tasks like foot massages and back rubs. OK, maybe not the latter if you feel a little uncomfortable about it. For your efforts we will have your access to the event sorted, a food voucher, and for those able to offer more than a day of work, we will even have some cash money for you too. It’s not much but it will pay for some (pretty fancy) plasters needed for the blisters.

Please note that this request generally goes out to non-competitors over the weekend, but if you are taking part in a tournament, your assistance will not be allowed in your tournament game of choice, because, well, it’s just not right. It should also be noted that while assisting us gains you access to the expo for the day (or days) of sacrifice, this will not equate to a free entry to your tournament, because there’s always a chance of someone laying complaints if you were to win.

We will allocate you as best we can to your field of expertise, or wherever we need the help, so if you have some level of competitive or tournament administration experience, we will dump you with the grand responsibility of some score taking and general refereeing, but for those not meeting that requirement, looking mean will secure you security work, and being helpful to boot (or only) will secure you more general assistance responsibilities. Basically, we’d just be happy to have you help.

We won’t lie, it’s going to be a long day (or days if you’re particularly brave), and you may discover a few of us can be grumpy people or zombies (especially on day three), but if we weren’t clear about it elsewhere, we will all be eternally indebted to you for helping us make the event happen.
