EA DICE’s latest Frosbite prize engine supports all next-gen platforms, famously with the exception of supporting the WiiU.

The @FrostbiteEngine account took to Twitter yesterday, to tease support for the WiiU in an April Fools mock.

MCV spotted the shower of Tweets yesterday, with the @FrostbiteEngine claiming the engine “now runs on the #WiiU since it is the most powerful Gen4 platform.”

“Our renderer is now optimized for Mario and Zelda,” was Tweeted.

Followed on by claiming the engine will power Half Life 3 which would be launching this summer exclusively for the WiiU.

The Tweets were concluded with a claim that the engine can produce “Zero Latency” connection with the Nintendo console.

Good news, we have finally fixed and optimized our ‘netcode’. Uses quantum entanglement for Zero Latency connections. Exclusively on #WiiU.

CVG report that EA COO Peter Moore has now apologized for the comments, saying it was a “poor attempt” at an April Fools joke.
