Dota 2 | Mweb Gamezone Tournament Launched

MWEB GameZone has announced its Inaugural Dota 2 Cup which will be played out over the next seven or so weeks.

MWEB GameZone plan to use the results for “seeding of future MWEB sponsored tournaments.”  So that means there will be more, but we’d assume that’s more likely dependant on support from competitors.

38 matches will be played over the 49 days of the tournament which will start with a pool stage and on to double elimination knockouts.  A minimum of 16 teams is needed for the structure, but more teams can be catered for.

The winning team will score $125 in Steam credit and the first runner-up will bag $75 in Steam credit.

Schedule

  • Registration closes: 08 July 2012, at 13h00
  • Pool games: 09 July to 22 July 2012
  • Knockout games: 23 July to 25 August 2012
