The biggest (and arguably the best) South African film ever made will meet the biggest PS3 game of 2010.
This is a rather strange meeting of greats considering one is a Sci-Fi film and the other, a game based on Greek Mythology. Sony however has decided this is a workable collaboration, and that the District 9 Blu-Ray disc will feature a playable demo of God of War III, as well as making-of featurette of the game.
We are thrilled to give consumers not only an incredible high definition presentation of District 9 and the wealth of bonus material about the movie, but also a taste of what is destined to be the biggest video game of 2010. This pairing of the movie and game demo is just another example of what is possible with the Blu-ray format.
It’s a little rare mixing movies and games in this way, but it certainly is an interesting way of marketing both the game and film to a wider audience. Whether the South African version of the Blu-Ray will come with the demo is unknown – although I can’t see why not.
