Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 – Review (X360)

By Clinton “dreddsix6six” O’Shea Overview I hate Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Really.  It’s made me expect way too much from other Super Hero based games, and they really won’t achieve those lofty heights again for some time.  Shame for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, because it isn’t a terrible game, just one released in Batman: AA’s shadow.  They are nowhere near similar,…

Wet: Review (Xbox 360)

Overview

Rubi Malone is the main actress/heroine based on the gorgeous Eliza Dushku. She uses acrobatics, guns and a sword in slow-mo great action to revenge the ‘bad guys’ that set her up in this ‘out-there’ action shooter with elements of plat-forming and lovely use of slow-motion action. It plays out and even looks like a ‘retro’ movie, being played from a reel, so it really looks authentic to say the least. The latter statement is why you will read repeatedly that it has a ‘Tarantino’ type of look to it, which should be a huge compliment to the developers.

Wolfenstein – Review (X360)

By Clinton “dreddsix6six” O’Shea

Overview

Ah, Wolfenstein, you pixelated, Nazi killing, corridor dwelling, FPS you.  Oh, wrong era?  Well, that might be so, but even the new Wolfenstein still retains a fair amount of the base elements that made the 1991 version genre defining.  So how does this 2009 version hold up?

Features and Game play

Not too badly.  It is still (in essence) a pixelated, Nazi killing, corridor dwelling, FPS.  Without being pixelated.  And without actually being in corridors.

So, in essence, it’s an Old-school shooter.  But it’s not.

Ashes Cricket 2009 – Review (X360)

by Victor ‘r0gue’ Vieira

Overview

The ‘Ashes test series’ is one of the more prestigious cricket series. Named after the legendary Arthur Ash, It is played between England and Australia. This is the latest cricket game from Codemasters since the retirement of the namesake of Codemasters’ previous cricket game- Brian Lara. So Codemasters went with a new licence for their new title as EA Games still have the official ICC license. So obviously Australia and England are fully licenced and as for the rest….well I’m sure you can work out who H.Gabbs is from South Africa. You can play in this historic battle that is Ashes, or choose the other forms of cricket series’ i.e test, one-day or 20/20 and choose from the known cricket nations that include New Zealand, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Ireland, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kenya and Ireland. If counties is not your thing then you are limited to ‘All-Star’ selections, however you can customise your selection aswell as edit your players.

inFamous – Review (PS3)

By PsiCoNaut

Overview

I think the worst problem with this game is that I played it after [prototype]. With that been said, it must be stated that this game is not bad by any means. In fact, it is quite an awesome game, with a very well told comic-book style story. You play a guy named Cole MacGrath, living and working as a bike messenger (and oddly enough there does not seem to be any bikes at all in the game), in Empire City.
