Activision was reportedly accused of blacklisting French site, Gameblog.fr for outing the Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 listing on Amazon which was then reported by many websites.
Activision has now denied that the blog was blacklisted:
“Activision doesn’t blacklist journalists” reports PR agency, GamesBeat as cited by GamesIndustyBiz.
“We believe this was a misunderstanding and are working towards a resolution.”
GIBiz also report that an Activision rep contacted Gameblog editor, Grégory Szriftgiser to pull the story, but the editor refused. The publication weas reportedly then uninvited to a press event they had been supposed to attend.
The editor told Kotaku:
“They also made clear that the relationship was to be severed, all advertisement plans cancelled, games not sent, and invitations to later events cancelled as well.
“I explained that if this was their decision indeed, we had to inform our readers of it, and would do so later in the day.”
This is not the first questionable listing by Amazon.
Black Ops remains formally unconfirmed by Activision.
