2upGamers 12 April Event Details

2upGamers TVsWith a week to go, here’s what will be on the cards for April’s 2upGamers’ event.  It’s jam packed, and the good news is entry to the event will be cheaper than ever before.

The event will be at the Trinity Event situated at 15 Bennett Street in Green Point, Cape Town on Friday 12 April.  Entry will now be R60 per person, with ladies getting in for R50.  The main reason for this discount is that food will no longer be part of the entry fee, and attendees will be able to pick up a variety of meal options at the venue for R30.  Remember, there is also a cash bar at the venue, so all your hunger and thirst needs should be covered.

The event – as always planned – kicks off at 7pm, and will feature guest speakers followed by a plethora of social and gaming opportunities.

The two celebs due to join in the fun in the MWEB GameZone Celeb Challenge have been announced.  They are female radio personalities, Geri Olwagen and TammyB from Good Hope FM.

Up for grabs is an Advanced Driving Course and a medal, and competitors will be able to race in Forza 4 with a standard controller and the Xbox wireless speed wheel.

Desmond Kurz of MWEB Gamezone says, “the intention behind the MWEB Celebrity Gaming Showdowns is to showcase the fun of multiplayer gaming to a “mainstream” audience. The hope is that these initiatives will then grow the already booming  online multiplayer community.”

Two more female radio DJs have joined the event.  DJ Mixi and Ayanda will be on hand to set their quickest time on the Top Gear Test Track on Forza 4.  All contestants will be competing for an Advanced Driving Course and the winners medals.

ROCCAT gear will also be on display at the event, with MWEB members entitled to a discount when purchasing any of the items.
